This is a beautiful vineyard with steep slopes and ravines, rich in native vegetation. The vineyards are like a patchwork, up and down the slopes and this means that the grapes have lots of different angles of sun exposure. This characteristic of the vineyard yields a variety of flavours, because some grapes are more ripe than others. Cooling breezes blow through this vineyard, which helps to slow down the ripening process and produces crisp, fresh grapes.
The Shiraz grape variety is particularly well suited to this vineyard and Hector Urzua selects the Shiraz from Villa Alegre for the red Reserva and the Rosé.
The Syrah grape variety is particularly well suited to this vineyard and Hector Urzua selects the Syrah from Villa Alegre for the red Reserva and the Rosé.
