Palo Alto knows the importance of the environmental problems that are affecting everyone, so through various organizations we’re helping reforest the planet, thus providing a better quality of life through a creation of green areas, gaining health benefits and a better daily life.

That’s why we decided to work with various organizations that support this cause, like ”Trees for Cities” in UK, “Iniciativa Verde” in Brazil, “Reforestamos México” in Mexico and ”Mi Parque” in Chile.

Palo Alto Reserva 2008 Wins Gold Medal

Palo Alto Reserva 2008 has been awarded an important distinction in the “Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2009“. This contest, created 15 years ago, quickly gained prestige as the competition´s jury is composed exclusively of wine industry professionals. This year the panel was made up of 200 experts of 40 different nationalities.

At the contest 6.289 wines were tasted and awarded gold, silver and bronxe medals. Palo Alto Reserva Tinto 2008 won a Gold Medal, which confirms the consistency achieved by this wine and promises us a great year with this new vintage.

This is undoubtedly a very special distinction which will help us to continue expanding and strengthening Palo Alto´s brand image globally.

Palo Alto helps make London even leafier

“Trees for Cities” latest campaign is called “Trees for Streets”. Part of the Palo Alto Fund is supporting this exciting project. Trees for Streets aims to raise £1,000,000 to plant trees on London’s streets. The appeal is being supported by Mayor Boris Johnson, as it complements his initiative to plant another 10,000 street trees in the capital. As well as beautifying the city, street trees reduce asthma, absorb co2, increase property prices, cool the city and prevent water run-off.

An eye-catching poster campaign on the London Underground encourages Londoners to pledge their support for the campaign by text, phone and email.

Palo Alto wins outstanding distinction in Wine Spectator

In its May 2009 edition, the most influential wine magazine in the world has awarded Palo Alto Red 2007 an 89-point score and ranked it a “Best Value” wine.

This is a great acknowledgement of Palo Alto’s quality, given the short period since its release. This review, added to the recent award in the 6th Annual Wines of Chile Awards in January 2009, when it was chosen “Chile’s Best Value Red Wine”, confirms that this reserve wine’s remarkable characteristics and accessible price combine to make it one of the most attractive wines in the market worldwide.

“Robust, almost brawny in style, this Chilean red offers a hefty layer of coffee and bacony toast fronting dark plum and black-currant fruit. Tobacco and loam notes frame the muscular finish.” James Molesworth, Wine Spectator.

On the sixth annual contest “Wines of Chile Awards”, which took place last week in Santiago and was organized by Wines of Chile, “Palo Alto Red 2007″ obtained one of the most important recognitions:

Palo Alto Red 2007 was awarded “Best Value Red Wine”, from a total 446 various competitors. It also obtained Gold Medal and scored 91 points.

The judge panel for this contest was integrated by renowned experts who came to Chile exclusively for this event: Kevin Zraly (founder of Windows on the World), Robert Bradshaw (Banyan Consulting Buyer), Sandy Block (Legal Sea Foods Restaurant President), Robin Kelly O’Connor (Sherry-Lehmann educator and director of sales), Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellars assistant editor), Michael Schachnner (Wine Enthusiast writer), David Rosengarten (Gastronomic critic and TV show host), Linda Murphy (Decanter and San Francisco Chronicle Collaborator) and Patrick Comiskey (Wine & Spirits and Los Angeles Times writer).
